I've always loved the "Road to Emmaus" Luke 24:13-25 as it is Eucharistic and shows our continued need for witnessing Christ in our Midst. I pray my heart will at least occasionally burn for his presence.
Very often your homilies make me fell a longing for a better relationship with God. I think if you can inspire you must have a heart that burns with the presence of Jesus. I like the Road to Emmaus too. I am so blind!!
Read the 4 gospels over and over throughout the year, what an excellent start!
I heard this a great thing to do...good for you!
I like Luke 5:17 The healing of the paralytic. The roof is a barrier as are other people. It reminds me how hard at time the obstacles are in front of me when I try to pray. But, the man is helped by friends. Sometimes I need to lean on friends when I am having a tough time just in conversation or as a prayer partner, at least it gets me started. I love that the people and the Pharisees are awed at Jesus...no conflict yet. However the actions of Jesus are a constant inspiration. Earthly healing, which on occasion still occurs and I can appreciate the temporal frame( take up your mat and walk) and the indication of eternal healing and salvation( which is easier to say, pick up your mat, or go your sins are forgiven. I've got to trust in God when I read this passage. I become discouraged with all the world and community turmoil and the season of death. God help me is what I have to say each day.
