A Unique opportunity
To ensure Resurrection parish is well-positioned to answer our calling, we are inviting you to join us in the Called to Serve Campaign - a $6+ million initiative to build, expand, and renovate new spaces to grow in faith. Thanks to generous and faithful parishioners, we are well on our way to actualizing this vision!
Capital campaign Overview
Resurrection University Catholic Parish has been blessed with a rapidly growing community and proximity to the vibrant Montana State University campus. However, most parishes across our Diocese of Helena are shrinking and we are suffering from a critical priest shortage. With a population of over 17,000 students and young adults, we are poised to help turn the tide by cultivating vocations to the priesthood and religious life and also by sending out faithful young people who will form families and build up parishes. Therefore, to meet the needs of our growing faith community and help revitalize our diocese, we aim to accomplish the following expansions:
- Construction of a new Rectory: Build an onsite rectory to bring our priests to our campus and increase accessibility for parishioners and students alike. It will also provide adequate living quarters for our beloved priests.
- Parish Student Center: Build a much-needed student center to serve as the foundation for our MSU missionary program.
- Parish Center Renovation: Create more desperately needed space to serve our growing staff, religious education, and social gatherings.
rectory relocation
To expand our outreach and availability to university students and parishioners alike, we will build a rectory on the current church grounds. The current rectory is located several miles from our parish campus and is far too small to accommodate the two priests with which we have been blessed. The new rectory will be situated along 11th Ave., just east of our parish center. In addition to living quarters for our two parish priests, the new rectory will include two guest rooms, a small chapel, and large dining and living room spaces to host social events with parishioners, students, and/or clergy.
While building this space is a large undertaking, it is the most economical and logical option given that housing options near our church are limited, costly, and built to fit the needs of college students, not priests.

Parish Center Renovations
With thoughtful and impactful renovations, we will create a Parish Center that serves the needs of our growing parish community. We are already in desperate need of additional room for our many ministries including our campus outreach, and for our staff that has doubled in size due to our rapid growth. We will reposition and reconfigure our office area to provide more space for a second priest, a full-time campus minister, four FOCUS missionaries, and several full-time and part-time office personnel. We will redefine and expand the Parish Center for proper ADA accessibility requirements and to address space needs for both large and small group activities, including once again hosting all religious education on our campus, parish meetings, and social gatherings that further the work of our church and help our community grow in faith and fellowship.
Student Center
Today nearly 200 MSU students worship with us on any given Sunday. We know that many more of the 17,000 students are hungering for truth, for love and for meaning in their lives. Therefore, we are seeking to build upon our solid foundation and broaden our outreach to Montana State University with a robust missionary program. To help us do this, we will build a student center that will be separate from, but connected to, our current church building. This space will feature a central, comfortable, common area, along with small group rooms for academic and religious study, that will create an abundance of new possibilities for our students to encounter Christ.
We invite you to give
We invite all parishioners to join us in making a sacrificial campaign gift. A project this transformative will require ALL of us to give in an inspired way. Pledges can be made over 5 years and should feel personally significant for you. We are grateful for, and need, all contributions at any level and know the Holy Spirit will bless those contributions. We invite you to pray about what you may be able to give.

Time has proven that at Resurrection Parish, all things are possible through God. When we are called to serve and embrace that calling, our path is made clear by God. And while He provides the way, it is we who must walk his path. It is in that spirit that we leaned into and achieved our sanctuary project in 2016. With that same spirit we are now Called to Serve our parish, campus, and community anew in innovative and faith filled ways. We invite you to join us on this journey through prayerful support and in sharing the gifts that our generous God has bestowed upon you.
